These fall events are more important than you think. They’ll add a whole new dimension of fun to your already planned beach vacation! Not only will you get to enjoy the beautiful water and quiet beaches, but you’ll also get a chance to experience the excitement and novelty of a Gulf Shores event!

I’ve compiled a handy list of the events going on along the sandy coastline of Gulf Shores, Alabama, this fall. Before you head down there, see if any of these appeal to you, then build your vacay around those dates!

Gulf Shores is one of the best places to travel in October and November because the temperatures still feel tropical!

Just for seafood lovers:

You won’t want to miss this fall event when over 10,000 pounds of shrimp are prepared and served by renown area chefs! In addition to the tasty seafood morsels, you can expect an impressive music line up, hundreds of art vendors, and a sand castle contest (that your family can enter), as well as a 5k and 10k race!

Just for football lovers:

Annual Oyster Cook Off and Craft Beer Weekend at The Hangout (first weekend of November)

This festival combines two of the best things in the world: oysters and craft beer! Ok, so you may not share my enthusiasm for both, but if you did— this weekend is your chance to taste it all! Other festival activities include oyster shucking contests and a Bloody Mary Invitational! This event is a wonderful option for those who can’t be pried away from football on the weekends because there is a sports viewing lounge so you won’t have to choose between traveling with your family and missing your favorite ball game!!
