Here are some examples of events offered in a calendar year.

April – Dino Egg Hunt

“You need more than one day at this museum!”

Discovery Park of America has stellar reviews.

A Real Find!

This is an excellent place to visit for all ages! I have been there many times. I find something different I have not seen every time! It is filled with so many different types of interest! From dinosaurs to a pioneer village and more! A great museum plus many other activities are offered here on a regular basis! Need to check their website regularly. A cafe and gift shop is also available in the main building. There are other buildings of interest, a large pond with fish, turtles, & ducks, a Japanese Garden with a Koi pond, a water mill, too many things to mention. They have a variety of venues offered. Discovery Park of America is definitely a great place to visit!

Here’s what else you need to know.

  • There is a dining/cafe area on-site.

  • There are outdoor areas to explore, dress appropriately for the season.

  • The city does not have much to see besides the museum that’s why many people advocate for NOT spending the night. If you come for just a day trip, plant to arrive as soon as the museum opens and stay until it closes.

  • If you do spend the night, be sure to check out nearby Reelfoot Lake!

  • BEWARE OF SPEED TRAPS near the museum. Supposedly, there are cameras that give out speeding tickets like candy to unsuspecting tourists.
