Located in the Ozarks, Blanchard Springs Caverns are managed by the USDA Forest Service. Known as a “living cave” there are guided tours to explain and highlight all the natural wonders found there.
Be sure to make reservations PRIOR to your trip! You may not be able to get in if you do not have a reservation and the day is busy. Also check ahead for closures on their website.

What’s so special about this destination?
The Blanchard Springs Caverns in Arkansas is definitely a weekend escape. It takes about six hours to get there, however, the route takes you through Memphis. So, you could plan two trips in one!
Blanchard Springs Caverns are known to have formations that are awe-inspiring! You are able to take guided tours, as well as hike in the surrounding Blanchard Springs Recreation Area with stunning lake and creek views. There are also RV and campsites from which to choose if you plan to stay overnight.

Ok, let’s be honest.
There’s NOT a lot to do nearby. You’re kind of in the middle of the Ozarks.
But here are some small, local sights to see:
Ozark Folk Center State Park - open mid-April to mid-November
OK Trading Post - horseback riding trails
Loco Ropes - adventure and ropes course
Old Mill - historic ruins where travelers like to take pictures
